Now open, right here in Market Harborough, a Gin School, where you will discover the art of gin-making in a hands-on, immersive experience right here at our Leicestershire Distillery. Whether you’re a seasoned gin enthusiast or a curious beginner, our Gin School based in Market Harborough offers a unique opportunity to take charge of your own mini copper still and to craft your very own bottle of bespoke gin, guided by our expert master distiller.

Our Gin School experience is designed to educate, inspire, and delight:

  • Introduction to Gin: Learn about the fascinating history and heritage of gin, from its botanical origins to its resurgence as a modern classic.

  • Botanical Exploration: Dive into a sensory journey as you explore a wide range of botanicals, from classic juniper berries to exotic spices and citrus peels.

  • Create Your Own Recipe: Select and combine botanicals to design a gin that reflects your personal taste.

  • Distilling Your Gin: Use your own mini copper still to distil your creation, under the guidance of our skilled master distiller.

  • Label and Take Home: Bottle, label, and name your one-of-a-kind gin to take home and enjoy.

Getting There

Located in “Market Harborough”, the Gin School is conveniently situated for both local visitors and those travelling from afar. With its close proximity to the train station, you can easily plan a hassle-free day of gin-filled adventure.

The distillery is situated just off the “Rockingham Road”, on the “Welland Industrial Estate”, a short 10 minute walk from Market Harborough train station, or 15 – 20 minute walk from the centre of town where all the main buses stop, or alternatively we have plenty of parking should you wish to drive.

Directions to the Gin School:  When turning into Welland Business Park from the main entrance, the start of the one way system (not the one with Toolstation on the corner), drive down the road, then follow it round to the right. You need to take the first turning on your left (opposite Howdens Joinery), then its all the way to the bottom on the left, you can park on the left next to the building.

Accessibility

Our Gin School events are held on the ground floor of the distillery, which is fully accessible, however the setup, although accessible, it does require you to sit on a stool, if you have any special requirements, we are more than likely to be able to accommodate them. There are also fully accessible on-site toilets on the same level. Terms & Conditions

Our Gin School is strictly for those aged 18 and over, and we operate a Challenge 25 policy, so if you are between 18 – 25, it would be advisable to bring some photo ID with you. Advance booking is required, as we cannot accommodate walk-in customers. A minimum of 8 attendees is needed to run a Gin School session; if this number is not met, the class will be cancelled. In such cases, we will contact you to arrange an alternative date or provide a refund. Bookings are transferable to another person, or you can purchase a Gin School session as a gift. However, we must be informed of the new attendee’s name at least 24 hours before the event. Please email us at info@harborough-honey.co.uk to notify us of any changes or additional names.
